How do I upgrade my headlight wires?

I've got a '84 Buick and I wanted to upgrade my headlight wires. It seems as tho one side get's brighter than the other. So how do I upgrade the wires safe and effectively?How do I upgrade my headlight wires?Before replacing wires, check the quality of the ground connection for the dim lamp.
