How do I remove the halogen bulb assembly from a Mitsubishi Mirage headlight?

1995 Mirage. Able to remove assembly socket from headlight but can't remove the bulb assembly from the socket. The manual says just pull it out. It won't budge. Seems to be latched in but no clear way to unlatch it. I hope I'm missing the obvious. Don't want to waste time going to a mechanic for something so trivial. Thanks for any help. How do I remove the halogen bulb assembly from a Mitsubishi Mirage headlight?Your car has a 9004 bulb. If you were able to remove the socket that is the hard part. The 9004 bulb has a tab on it that holds it in the socket. There should be a release tab on the socket. Push or pull the tab so the socket disengages from the light bulb. Then you pull the bulb straight out. When installing the new bulb be careful not to touch the glass. If you are still having problems go to your local parts store, you can go to the one where you bought the bulb. Most places will replace it for you for free or a nominal charge ($5). Don't be shy, people come in every day asking for help installing bulbs. Good luck, I hope this helps. How do I remove the halogen bulb assembly from a Mitsubishi Mirage headlight?Usually they twist to unlock then pull straight out , I would say that it is just stubborn and stuck .
