How do you set the headlight correctly on a motorbike?

Would loike to know how to correctly set headlight on a trail bike without dazzeling the whole world, i.e. what is correct setting. ThanksHow do you set the headlight correctly on a motorbike? From about 30 feet away the low beam should hit you (with the brightest area of the light) just above the knees. For most people this would be around 20 inches or so. Also it should angle a little to the right on low beams although it most likely doesn't have a side to side adjustment. When finished throw on the high beam and ride down a dark road. You should be able to see 300 feet or so (lighting up signs). If it has the old style light and not a sealed beam or halogen bulb, it won't be too bright for on coming traffic anyway. How do you set the headlight correctly on a motorbike? It depends on how fast you plan on going. How do you set the headlight correctly on a motorbike? If you have a nice wall or garage door try shining a well setup automobile's head lights at it from ~30 feet at night. Note the height of the light and then do the same with your motorbike. Remember that you must be sitting on the bike whilst you set up the head light. Or you could have some one of similar weight sit on it while you change the adjustment.

The owners manual may have some recommendations for proper adjustment. Another thought is to ask a state vehicle inspector if the machine is road legal.

Give some thought to how fast you will travel and when you intend to use your bike.
